A foundation in education and leadership

Eric received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Southern Illinois University. Notably, he earned the faculty's esteemed recognition as the school’s outstanding finance student. During that time, he was also a member of the varsity baseball team. He later graduated with an MBA and was recognized as a Knight Scholar from Washington University in St. Louis, where he was distinguished by faculty for exemplifying intelligence, moral character, integrity and loyalty. Beyond his academic pursuits, Eric has served as an adjunct professor, imparting his wisdom in business strategy and economics to both undergraduate and graduate students.

A rich heritage and personal journey

As the second of five children, Eric's roots trace back to a working family farm in Illinois, where he was raised by two college educators. This unique upbringing instilled in him a robust work ethic, a profound sense of discipline, and an appreciation for the value of knowledge—a legacy he continues to carry forward in his professional endeavors. Beyond his illustrious career, Eric finds solace and inspiration in his love for the outdoors and sports. Shotgun sports, golf, cycling, racquetball, snow skiing and road racing are among his passions, reflecting his zest for life and his pursuit of excellence both inside and outside the boardroom.
